Red Oxx's Montana-built luggage is guaranteed FOREVER.  Literally.  The box tells you to put the bag in your will because as long as Red Oxx is around they will fix whatever goes wrong with the bag.  I had the pleasure of taking a Sky Train (the bag, not the JFK monorail ... though I did take that too) to LA for a 4-day weekend.  Mixed dress required multiple pairs of shoes, a few different kinds of pants, and shirts.   The Sky Train gobbled it all up, and was well within the carry-on limit.  In fact, I also brought along one of the Red Oxx Gators as my "handbag" item.  The Gator is great for electronics or other stuff you want to access during the flight -- laptop, kindle, ipod, book, beverage -- it stows right under the seat in front of you.  These two bags let me take everything I needed, plus some stuff I didn't, for the 4-day cross country trip ... and all without checking a single bag.
